Trump and New York City: A battered love affair

National writer Matt Sedensky, prior to former President Donald Trump’s felony arraignment for allegedly falsifying business records, captured in a crackerjack of a story Trump’s love of the Empire State, from childhood to indictment, with humor and wit. Sedensky told a story many may have forgotten: Of Trump’s desperation to fit in New York society, his business dealings, his face on the scene and in the stands, and his eventual rejection of the city that was the site of protests of his presidency. He wrote “Rejected by its voters, ostracized by its protesters and now rebuked by its jurors, the people of New York have one more thing to splash Trump’s name on: Indictment No. 71543-23.”
